Accessibility Statement for The Giddings website including Great & Little Gidding Parish Council
Great & Little Gidding Parish Council have put in place accessibility functions to enable as many people as possible to be able to use this website with ease. Two steps will ensure the optimum use in terms of accessibility. The first is to set up your chosen Internet browser to suit your individual requirements. The second is to use the Accessibility Tools Symbol on the Giddings website.
Setting up your chosen browser

The Accessibility Tools Symbol on the Giddings website
The Accessibility Tools Symbol is located at the top left of the website and when clicked on will show a variety of functions that users can mix and match to meet their individual accessibility needs. In conjunction with setting up the accessibility settings on your chosen browser you will be able to:
- Increase and decrease the size of text
- Convert the font to a clearer more readable font
- Change the colouring to greyscale
- Change to a high contrast screen
- Change to a negative contrast screen
- Change to a light background
- Underline all active links
- Navigate some of the website using just a keyboard
- Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- Reset to clear chosen functions.
Some content is not accessible
The Giddings website was constructed prior to accessibility regulations and therefore some items are not structured in a way that will work within the scope of the accessibility functions e.g. older PDF files, video content, the Home page slideshow etc.
Looking to the future
Great & Little Gidding Parish Council will aim to meet accessibility standards to WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines in all documents that are uploaded to the website henceforth. Regular checks will be made to ensure content meets accessibility where at all possible.
