The area between the Manse and where Church Lane
joins Main Street used to contain an orchard and about half a dozen
cottages – some set back from the road – containing, in the 19th
century, 7 or 8 families and some 30 to 35 people. This thatched
cottage seems to have been empty from about 1900 and must have
been demolished by 1910.
