This row of cottages appears to have been a little "up-market" from
the cottages at No 62 – up the street. Shoemakers, Tailors, Bakers,
Retired Ministers lived there in the mid 19th century, but as the
cottages became older, they were inhabited more by agricultural
labourers. Eventually the Nash family – descended from the Brawns
– donated the site to the village and the Village Hall now stands
there.
