No 59 (on the left) has been occupied by baker/farmers
since 1850 (Brawns, Palmers and Garratts). The property was owned
from the 18th century by the Weed family of Luddington.
No 57 (further up the street on the left) was occupied by farmers
for most of the census period and owned by the Strickson family.
The houses beyond No 57 were destroyed in the 1861 fire.
